The NEET UG counseling schedule has been formally issued by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) on its website, mcc.nic.in. The tentative start date of the counseling process is August 14, 2024. During the first week of August, aspirants will be able to register for MCC NEET UG counseling and get a place under the 15% All India quota.
After three rounds of NEET UG counseling,
MCC will conduct a vacancy round. The three main rounds of registration will be open to all candidates, but only those who have already registered will be considered for the stray vacancy phase.
Details about NEET UG 2024 Counseling
- Validation of Proposed Seating Chart: August 14–August 16, 2024
- Payment and registration are open from August 14, 2024, to August 21, 2024, at noon (server time). The facility will be available till 3:00 PM on August 21, 2024.
- Option Filling/Locking: From August 16, 2024, to August 20, 2024, till 11:55 PM (server time). Option locking facility will be available from 4:00 PM on August 20, 2024, till 11:55 PM on the same day.
- Seat allotment process: 21 August 2024 to 22 August 2024
- Declaration of result: 23 August 2024
- Reporting/Joining: 24 August 2024 to 29 August 2024
- Verification of data of joined candidates by institutes and sharing of data by MCC: August 30 to August 31, 2024
It is recommended that candidates monitor the official MCC website regularly for updates and other details on the counseling process. According to Dr. B Srinivas, Secretary of the National Medical Commission (NMC), counseling will take place to determine the distribution of over 1.10 lakh MBBS seats among approximately 710 medical colleges nationwide.
