Every year, January typically sees an uptick in car costs. January 2024 is expected to be comparable as well. Numerous automakers have declared plans to raise their prices. Mercedes & BMW are also among them. Each will add 2% to the cost of the cars they have chosen. Citing increases in the cost of commodities, raw materials, and transportation, car costs are rising.
Beginning on January 1st of the new year,
Mercedes-Benz will raise the price of a few of its models in India by up to 2 percent. The price increase for the C-Class will be Rs 60,000, for the GLS SUV it will be Rs 2.6 lakh, and for the “top-end” imported Mercedes-Maybach S 680 it will be Rs 3.4 lakh. Mercedes-Benz India sells everything from A-Class sedan to SUV G63 AMG. The price of various models of the company ranges from Rs 46 lakh to Rs 3.4 crore
Prices of some models would be slightly raised,
according to Santosh Iyer, Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz, to counteract growing costs, promote profitable company operations, and preserve value. He stated, “We will bear most of the burden of this increase ourselves, but some of it will also be passed on to the market.” BMW is also planning to raise the price of its vehicles by 2% starting on January 1. According to Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India, the decision to raise prices for all BMW India models is in keeping with the times.
“We are forced to increase the prices
due to fluctuations in exchange rates and increasing costs of raw materials,” he stated. In addition to this, several businesses have announced price increases for January, including Mercedes & BMW, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor India, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Honda, and Audi.
