“The industry’s wholesale sales during January to December last year achieved an all-time high of 37.93 lakh units with an increase of 23%,” said Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer (Sales & Marketing), Maruti Suzuki India (MSI). In 2021, there were 30.82 lakh units. According to him, sales of passenger vehicles (PVs) overall now account for 42.3 percent of the demand for SUVs, which is growing steadily.

Number 1 is Maruti Suzuki

It appears that Maruti Suzuki was the nation’s top automaker even in 2022. In comparison to 2021, then 13.64 lakh units were sold, Maruti Suzuki saw a 16 percent growth in sales in 2022, to 15.76 lakh units. However, the company’s domestic wholesale sales fell from 1,26,031 units in December 2021 to 1,13,535 units in December 2021, a 9.91 percent decrease.

On the other side, Hyundai Motor India Limited

Also achieved its greatest domestic sales in 2022 with 5,52,511 units. This represents a 9.4% increase over the 5,05,033 units in 2021. Similar to this, Tata Motors had a significant year in 2022 with sales of 5,26,798 automobiles.

Skoda and Toyota are also popular.

1,60,357 units were sold in total at wholesale by Toyota Kirloskar Motor in 2022. In comparison to 1,30,768 units in 2021, it was 23% greater. The business claimed that its wholesale sales during the previous year were the highest in the previous ten years. Prior to this, it enjoyed high sales in 2012, totaling 1,72,241 units.
