VIDEO Cricket commentary in Sanskrit is going viral on social media, did you hear?

Gully cricket matches in India are often in the news for showcasing some of the best talents, but it is not easy for any game to grab the attention of people through its commentary. Now, something similar has happened. A video of a boy commenting in Sanskrit during a street match has created a flutter on social media.

A social media user shared a funny video in which some boys can be seen playing cricket and exchanging words in Sanskrit among themselves. A boy (who can be seen at the beginning of the video) can be heard giving an update in Sanskrit throughout the footage, which is quite spectacular and out of the box.

The post shared by Twitter user Laxmi Narayan BS has been captioned – ‘Sanskrit and Cricket.’ This video has become very viral on social media in a very short time. Social media users were surprised by this fluent commentary in Sanskrit and they have also praised this commentator fiercely.

Let us inform you that the data obtained from the 2011 census has shown that less than 0.002 percent of the population of India speaks Sanskrit. Sanskrit is the mother tongue of only 24,821 people in India. In the 2001 census, this number was 14,135. In such a situation, gradually the number of Sanskrit speakers has increased a lot. This information was received from the office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, Union Home Ministry in response to an RTI application.
