To boost the renewable energy plan, 900 megawatts (MW) of solar panels have been erected, according to a UP government official. The central government has acknowledged this invention as a best practice.
Government of Uttar Pradesh: By incorporating solar energy into over 33,000 projects throughout the state through the Jal Jeevan Mission, Uttar Pradesh hopes to save roughly Rs 1 trillion (10000 crore) in conventional energy expenditures, bolstering the clean energy agenda. As of right now, Jal Jeevan Mission has 41,000 projects across the state. By lowering electricity costs, Uttar Pradesh’s 33,229 solar-powered groundwater projects are anticipated to save the state exchequer Rs 1 trillion over time.
Emissions of carbon dioxide will be cut by 1.3 million tonnes
Additionally, by using less traditional power, these projects will lower 1.3 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year. To boost sustainable energy programs, 900 megawatts (MW) of solar panels have been erected, according to a UP government official. The central government has acknowledged this invention as a best practice. According to him, this will serve as a model for the nation’s environmentally conscious governance.
In order to finish the schemes as soon as possible
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, recently gave the bureaucrats strict instructions to finish the solar energy projects and initiatives as soon as possible. In addition to cost savings, UP is anticipated to receive 39 million carbon credits over the course of 30 years from solar energy-based initiatives. This demonstrates UP’s dedication to environmental preservation and sustainability.
According to him, implementing solar-powered projects lowers energy costs and helps the state become a “green state.” In the meanwhile, the state government is promoting private sector businesses to install microgrids in rural areas. In this context, 150 solar-powered microgrids with a combined capacity of 4.5 MW have been installed in Uttar Pradesh by Tata Power Renewable Microgrid, a subsidiary of Tata Power. 150 communities are served by these microgrids.
According to Manoj Gupta, CEO of Tata Power Renewable Microgrid, it helps 300 microbusinesses, including flour mills, oil expellers, rice husk removers, and spice grinders, as well as rural households. In addition, Uttar Pradesh is collaborating with NTPC, Tehri Hydro Development Corporation, and Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam to develop a strategy to begin floating solar energy projects. By 2027, the state wants to generate 14,000 MW of solar power.
