In the Indian auto market, Tata Motors has shown itself to be a strong competitor. The four SUVs produced by this domestic automaker—the Nexon, Nexon EV, Harrier, and Safari—recently received updates. In the future, the business intends to launch the production-ready Curve Coupe SUV in the first half of 2024. This model will first be introduced with an electric drivetrain, and thereafter an internal combustion engine (ICE) version will be released. In addition, the Tata Sierra SUV may be released in 2025. Similar to Curve, Sierra.EV will be released into the market first, followed by its ICE counterpart.
Shailesh Chandra, the managing director of Tata Motors
has disclosed that the company is seeking to penetrate a market that is not presently served by its current product line. He did not, however, provide much information regarding this impending model. However, there is conjecture that it will be an MPV model. Currently, available models in the compact MPV sector include the Mahindra Marazzo, Kia Carens, Toyota Rumion, and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Models like the Maruti Invicto, Toyota Innova Crysta, and Innova Hycross are also available in this market. However, Tata doesn’t have a model in this particular area.
It’s unclear how Tata’s next MPV will vary from these current versions
It is reasonable to anticipate that the corporation would equip its new MPV with contemporary features and technologies. It is anticipated that should Tata’s next MPV be developed, it will be positioned and priced to rival cars such as the Innova and Ertiga.
Both fleet customers and private buyers may be eligible for it
At this point, specifics have not been made public. On the other hand, it is anticipated that the Harrier SUV and the new Tata MPV could both be constructed on the same OMEGARC (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture) platform.
