The average person has received relief in recent days because of the increasing cost of wheat and flour. The sale of wheat on the market for sale via FCI Food Corporation of India (FCI) can help lower the cost. FCI Food Secretary Sanjeev Chopra said that the selling of the wheat product by FCI to consumers who are bulk buyers in the market in open markets is helping to regulate the price of both wheat and flour on the Indian market. Of the 50 tons of wheat FCI is being asked to offer 45 lakh tons of wheat under the Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS) to users who use bulk quantities on or before March 15.

He said that this auction is taking place via weekly e-auction. Chopra informed the food ministers of the state that bidders had already raised lots of wheat. This is why the prices have dropped. The secretary explained that selling wheat under the OMSS program is to increase domestic availability and reduce the rise in prices. Concerning fine grains, the Secretary noted his guidelines on buying and distributing coarse grains have been updated.
