Zomato has raised its platform charges by Rs. 4 from Rs. 3. The aforementioned increase is effective as of January 1. Before this, in August of last year, the business raised the cost from Rs 2 to Rs 3. Zomato has indicated that this increase is due to an increase in the margin. As costs rise and competition intensifies, the corporation claims that it is forced to take this action to preserve its profits. Zomato customers will bear a greater burden as a result of this rise. On the other hand, the business claims that this increase will enable it to offer its clients better service.

Zomato has also made an effort to raise its margins by increasing its platform fees. This increase will be applicable only in 33 percent of cities.

Swiggy raised its prices.

Approximately two-thirds of Zomato customers will therefore be spared from this increase. Swiggy has raised its platform fees in response to Zomato’s move. Last year, Swiggy began charging Rs 2. Later, it was raised to Rs 3.

On New Year’s Day, Blinkit sparkles.

Zomato’s platform charges have gone up. All users will be affected by this hike, regardless of whether they have a Zomato Gold subscription or not. The most orders were placed on Zomato’s second platform, Blinkit, on New Year’s Eve. Still, this was a far lower number than it was the previous year. Compared to 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020, Blinkit has delivered the most orders this year, according to the company.
