Water entered in residential areas of Delhi & metro also slowed down, govt issued traffic advisory

The challenges faced by Delhi residents have risen due to the Yamuna’s constantly rising water level. Many residential areas have been flooded. Many routes have been closed as a result of the submersion of the highways. Delhi Police has in the meantime released a traffic advisory. Make sure you are aware of the traffic advice before leaving your house. Due to the rise in Yamuna River’s water level, traffic would be controlled between Wazirabad and Vikas Marg on the outer ring road and Kali Ghat Mandir and Delhi Secretariat on the inner ring road. Officers stated that traffic diversion will also be done if the situation in Delhi worsens. The metro’s speed has also slowed down as a result of the flood-rain issue.

Police traffic advisory for Delhi

According to the traffic police’s advice, the Outer Ring Road can be used to travel between North and South Delhi by way of the Wazirabad Bridge, Marginal Dam Marg, Pushta Road, and Vikas Marg. In addition, you can travel via Arihant Marg, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, and Vikas Marg from the Outer Ring Road.

How should I proceed?

As a result, from Punjabi Bagh Chowk, you can travel through the Ring Road, Arihant Marg, Outer Ring Road, and Wazirabad Bridge to get from East to West Delhi. In addition, one can travel from Punjab Bagh Chowk to Vikas Marg via Ring Road, Dhaula Kuan, AIIMS, Sarai Kale Khan, and Ring Road.

The water has risen to a height of 208.08 metres. The lower portion of Kashmere Gate is flooded. Under the trademark bridge, there is an NDRF alert. At Nigambodh Ghat, the funeral has come to a halt.

Delhi’s traffic congestion

Traffic around Mahatma Gandhi Road, IP Flyover, Chandgi Ram Akhara, Kalighat Temple, Delhi Secretariat, and Wazirabad Bridge has been impacted by Yamuna water, according to the traffic warning. Additionally, it was stated that Delhi will not permit non-essential commercial cars to enter. The East and West Peripheral Motorways will be used as a diversion for such vehicles.
