Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) is managed by ESIC as a social security and health program for employees. More than three crore insured people have their savings managed by it.
Ministry made data public.
The ministry claims that in April, more jobs for young people were created. 8.37 lakh of the 17.88 lakh new employees hired this month were under the age of 25. This represents 47% of all new hires.
Under ESIC, free medical care is offered.
Employees covered by ESI receive free care. Other dependant family members, in addition to the covered individual, are also treated for free under this arrangement. There is no upper limit on the cost of therapy under this. In contrast, this is not the case with health insurance.
Additional advantages of numerous types of leave
The benefit of maternity leave is also accessible through ESI. In accordance with this, a woman employee receives 26 weeks of maternity leave during childbirth and six weeks of pay at 100% of the going rate in the event of a miscarriage. ESIC will pay up to Rs 10,000 for the covered person’s funeral in the event of his passing while they were still working. In addition, the dependents receive a specified percentage of the monthly pension.
