CNG : Soon, three well-known mid-size SUVs in India—the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyrider, and the Hyundai Creta—will be offered with CNG fuel options.
In fact, bookings for the Toyota Hyryder can now be made with a deposit of Rs. 25,000. It is perhaps the first vehicle in its class to come equipped with a CNG kit from the manufacturer.
The Creta CNG is anticipated to arrive in early 2023, while the Vitara and Hyrider versions are scheduled to go on sale next month (i.e., December 2022).
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara CNG
Petrol-powered vehicle The 1.5L, 4-cylinder K15C petrol engine seen in the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder will be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The SUV’s fuel efficiency with the compressed natural gas kit is 26.10 km/kg. On the Maruti XL6, the same engine is rated to deliver 26.32 km/kg of claimed mpg.
The system will produce around 88 horsepower and 121.5 nm of torque when operating on CNG.
The petrol mild hybrid engine has a maximum output of 103bhp and a maximum torque of 136Nm in the normal version.
The Maruti Grand Vitara can be made available across all versions. In contrast to the Hyrider, which will only be offered in the Toyota Hyryder mid-spec S and G trims.
The interior and exterior of the SUV won’t change, except that the CNG badge at the back.
A 6-speed manual transmission and a 1.4L GDi turbocharged petrol engine are anticipated to be available in the Hyundai Creta.
In comparison to the conventional petrol engine, the power and torque output will be less in CNG mode.
At the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo, the facelifted Creta model, which will make its India premiere, may also be launched.
