Mercedes-Benz introduced the redesigned GLS to mark the beginning of the 2024 calendar year. The new flagship SUV is available in two variants: the GLS 450 and the GLS 450d, with ex-showroom prices of Rs 1.32 crore and Rs 1.37 crore, respectively. In April of last year, the redesigned GLS model made its worldwide debut.
Options for the 2019 Mercedes GLS’s powertrain
The 2017 Mercedes GLS is available with two different powertrain options. The 3.0-liter 6-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine in the GLS 450 model produces 500 NM and 375 horsepower. On the other hand, the 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder diesel engine in the GLS 450d produces 362 horsepower and 700 Nm. A brand-new 48V mild hybrid system with an integrated starter generator (ISG) is mated to both engines. Depending on the driving conditions, the ISG can generate up to 20 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. Both engines come with a 9-speed automated gearbox as the gearbox. Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel drive technology is also installed on them.
Numerous external and interior modifications
The facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLS has undergone numerous cosmetic and internal modifications, making this SUV appear more desirable than it did previously. On the other hand, the side profile is essentially unchanged. It will face competition from high-end luxury SUVs such as the BMW X7, Audi Q8, Volvo XC90, and Land Rover Discovery.
Options for colors and a few features
The 2024 GLS is available in five different exterior color combinations, including Sodalite Blue, Hi-Tech Silver, Selenite Grey, Obsidian Black, and Polar White. The new upholstery options are called Bahia Brown and Catalana Brown. The most recent MBUX OS version now supports the twin-screen arrangement.
The GLS will only
be offered in India with a 7-seat configuration; captain seats in the middle row are not an option. Features include a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, five zones of climate control, ambient lighting with 64 colors, ventilated seats, and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
