Google also adds new features to improve the user experience. Google is planning to release a feature that will facilitate travel next year. The ‘Address Descriptor’ service will be available in India early next year, according to a report from Google.
‘Address Descriptor’ will be the global service.
This service is anticipated to launch as soon as the new year arrives. With the help of this service, the user of the map will be able to determine the direction to the shared location from the closest landmark, or main place. Those who are unfamiliar with a place will find this service useful. They won’t have to give a precise address to pinpoint a location anymore. Only the landmark closest to that location can be named.
The Google Maps President, Wide, stated this.
Google Maps’ Wide President and General Manager, Miriam Daniel, stated. “This service is being launched from India for the first time.” Since many Indian locations do not have specific addresses available. Our service will be quite helpful there. Maps, for instance, will locate the closest bus stop to a restaurant that a user specifies as “a restaurant located near a bus stand”. And provide instructions to the restaurant from there.
Two new features for India
have been introduced by Google Maps. The first feature is “Street View” navigation, which displays online real-time photographs of structures or paths that the user is likely to walk. “Lens in Maps” is the second feature, which will be available in 15 cities in India from January 2024.
