Problems for cyclists because of “bad” air quality in Noida

With an AQI of 400, Noida’s air quality has deteriorated to a “severe” level. The sky over Noida is covered in a heavy layer of smog, which is annoying the city’s citizens. Due to the rise in pollution, the cycling communities in Noida and Greater Noida are also experiencing a number of issues. Groups of cyclists from all across Noida and Greater Noida assert that poor vision is being caused by deteriorating air quality. After hitting 422 in Sector 62, the air quality, notably in Noida, was labeled as “severe.”

Noida

Many individual cyclists from the city,

as well as cycling teams like SWAG (Super Women’s Athlete Group) and G-NAR (Greater Noida Active Riders), are voicing their concerns about the deteriorating environmental conditions in the city throughout the winter. A biker who requests anonymity asks, “How can we move outside in such horrible weather? We promote riding for health and a healthy environment.

Noida

Cycling club G-NAR (Greater Noida Active Riders) administrator

and participant Ritesh Mishra said, “The extremely low AQI level is having a negative influence on our health. We regularly ride bikes between 7:00 and 8:00 am. The smog and pollution during this time are visible everywhere. Prior to Diwali, we often had 30-45 riders on the rides, but after Diwali, barely 10-15 motorcyclists joined because of the pollution.”

Noida

Somnath Singh, a different rider from the G-NAR squad,

claims: “The use of public transportation and carpooling must be promoted. Vehicles should be subjected to stringent pollution tests, and building sites and roadways should be sprayed with water. When leaving the house, N95 masks should be used. We must all exercise prudence. However, the government must also pay attention to the issue and take action to improve it.”

Noida

According to Rajiva Singh,

a keen rider and athlete from Greater Noida West, “the growth of residential societies, especially as a result of a huge intake of a migratory population of job seekers, has prompted the necessity for strong steps to ensure that industries and residents can coexist.”

Noida

He goes on, “Since many of the enterprises nearby routinely generate disagreeable gaseous odors, Sec 60’s surrounding areas experience air pollution. This has an impact on the nearby sectors 61, 62, 63, 70, 71, 56, 57, and 59. The direction of the wind has a significant impact on how this soiled air moves. To fix this issue, immediate action is required.”
