Railway Ministry’s tweet: Ministry of Railways has made a tweet today in which it has a video of the Automatic Coach Washing Plant. In this tweet, Railways has said that through modern automatic coach washing plants, Railways is working a lot towards saving water and promoting sustainable use of resources. Indian Railways is saving both time and water in the process of washing the coaches with its in-washing plant.

These are the features of the Automatic Coach Washing Plant

The plant uses 80 percent less water than the conventional method of washing railway coaches.

In a common coach washing plant, it takes several hundred liters of water to wash a coach, but these automatic wash plant coaches save a lot of water.

Even in this water, 80% of the water is recycled, or cleansed and repurposed used water.

The remaining 20 percent is fresh water.

Additionally, there will be significant water savings in the train cleaning process.

Earlier it used to take hours to wash the coach of the train, but now it is being done in minutes.

It will clean 24 coaches off the train in 10 to 15 minutes.

Additionally, it reduces the amount of labour needed for train cleaning on the railways.

The biggest feature of the automatic coach washing plant is that it also cleans
the lower part of the toilet of the train as soon as possible. Along with this, it makes it infection free. Earlier this was not possible in conventional cleaning. It is the effort of the Railways that such automatic coach washing plants should be installed all over the country. This will save both time and water.
