So now have a little patience because your dream is going to be fulfilled very soon. Soon the facility of air taxi is going to come in metro cities like Delhi and Mumbai. Aviation sector regulator DGCA has given the green signal to the Vertiports Rules. After this, it is estimated that air taxis will start running in the country in the year 2026.

Following this, it’s predicted that air taxis will begin service in the nation in 2026.

Approved the regulations for constructing a vertiport for air taxis. The DGCA regulations state that vertiports will be built for these air taxis. These vertiports will be designed in such a way that air taxis can do vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) from here. These vertiports will be built on the lines of airports.IndiGo and Archer Aviation reached an agreement for 200 Midnight aircraft.

The parent firm of IndiGo,

the biggest airline in the nation, InterGlobe Enterprises, has launched the first attempt to introduce an air taxi. It has agreed to purchase Archer Aviation’s Midnight VTOL aircraft from the California-based business. Manufacturer of electric air taxis is Archer Aviation. With a $1 billion investment, IndiGo has committed to purchasing 200 Midnight aircraft.

Mumbai and Delhi may have been the first cities to offer air taxis.

To develop regulations for vertiports, the DGCA claims to have had lengthy conversations with all relevant parties. The regulations state that standards have been established for vertiport emergency response, parking, landing, battery charging, air taxi operations, and infrastructure. Vertiports are going to be approved only after following all these rules. According to the Times of India report, the first air taxi can start in Delhi. After this, this facility will also be provided in Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.
