Shop owners will need to be vigilant

Due to this new regulation, stores that buy SIM cards will now need to use greater caution. The shop’s employees are required to run a background check on the person buying the SIM card. If they don’t, each shop could be subject to a punishment of up to Rs 10 lakh.SIM card

The new regulation will take effect on October 1

According to the Department of Telecommunications, new guidelines to stop the sale of SIM cards fraudulently will go into force on October 1. Companies that sell SIM cards must register all of their points of sale (POS) before September 30. According to the regulations, major telecom providers must also keep an eye on the stores where their SIM cards are sold. In order to guarantee the protection of customers, they must make sure that these stores strictly adhere to the rules.SIM card

In addition, the Department of Telecommunications has determined that

telecom providers in several regions, including Assam, Kashmir, and the North East, must submit to police verification of SIM card retail locations. They won’t be able to sell fresh SIM cards there till after this.SIM card

Suppose the SIM is misplaced

If the previous SIM card is lost or destroyed, you will have to go through a thorough verification process when purchasing a new SIM card. The procedure is the same as when purchasing a new SIM. This is done to make sure the SIM is sent to the owner of the lost or damaged SIM. These new regulations are designed to strengthen SIM card security and shield phones from fraud.
