Demand for SUVs is rising, as seen by rising sales and an increase in the SUV segment’s market share. People have fallen in love with several well-known SUVs, like the Mahindra Scorpio, Tata Nection, and Maruti Brezza. However, a compact SUV was recently observed approaching and potentially challenging them all in terms of sales. Tata Punch is this SUV.
In January 2024, the Tata Punch was the best-selling SUV.
All of the well-known SUVs, including the Nexon, Brezza, and Scorpio, lagged in terms of sales in this. Only 12,006 Tata Punch units were sold in January of last year (2023), compared to 17,978 units sold in January of this year (2024). If we examine the annual growth, sales have increased by 50%.

In terms of the top 5
SUVs sold in January 2024, the Tata Nexon comes in at number two. The numbers show that there isn’t much of a difference between Tata Punch and Nexon sales. 17,182 Tata Nexon units have been sold. However, the Maruti Brezza appears at number three, with only 15,303 units having been sold.
Concerning Tata Punch
Notably, Tata Motors has raised the cost of its vehicles recently. Punch’s price range has been expanded from Rs 6.13 lakh to Rs 10.20 lakh. Its initial cost was Rs 6 lakh previously. This five-seater SUV features a 366-liter boot. It has 187mm of ground clearance. It has a 1.2-liter petrol engine. Along with this, a CNG kit is also an option.
