More than 62 lakh central employees, as well as 48 lakh pensioners, have been waiting for the dearness allowance as well as relief to grow. A decision is expected to be made during the Modi cabinet meeting at the beginning of March prior to Holi. This time around, the Dearness Allowance (DA) may be increased in increments of 4 percent. Central employees currently have an allowance of 38 percent for dearness which is set to rise up to 42 percent. However, the employees will receive this as part of their salary for March, only.

Alongside receiving the funds to cover the DA raise in March’s pay, arrears of 2 months are also accessible. So, the cash will be added to the account. Additionally, there is also reported in the media that the government could also meet the old requirement of increasing the fitment factor for central employees following Holi. If a final decision is taken regarding the fit factor, there will be an enormous increase in the salary of central employees.
