This is significant news for anyone who uses a debit card today. The government bank’s debit card will no longer work on October 31. Customers with debit cards at the government-run Bank of India (BoI) would no longer be able to use them. Through tweets, BOI has provided information on this.
According to the bank, consumers won’t be able to use their ATM cards to make any purchases or withdraw cash after October 31. Customers have previously been told about this by the bank.
Tweeted Bank Of India
Dear Customer, in accordance with the regulatory requirements, a working cellphone number is necessary to access debit card services, according to a tweet from the Bank of India (BOI). To prevent the suspension of debit card services, the Bank has asked customers to contact their branch and update or register their mobile number before October 31, 2023.
Call the bank branch
Go right away and call the bank if you are also a customer of the Bank of India. In addition, go right away to the branch and register your cell number if you intend to use the bank’s debit card in the future. If not, you won’t be able to use the card to make any more transactions or withdraw cash.
Online number changes are also possible
Customers can alter their phone numbers using an ATM or even online, according to the bank. You can also get in touch with the branch if you are unable to accomplish this. You must fill out the number change form at the bank branch and provide all the information requested for this. Additionally, a copy of the passbook and an Aadhar card must be submitted.
