Honda will shortly introduce a new Honda SUV in India. Locally, it is being developed. The forthcoming mid-size SUV teaser was recently unveiled by the firm. It will face off against SUVs like the Kia Sorento, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Hyundai Creta. The sales of the Creta and Grand Vitara may suffer if this SUV is a success, which neither Hyundai nor Maruti would appreciate. Although the launch schedule has not been made public, it is anticipated that the new Honda SUV will be available for the holiday shopping season in 2023.
While reservations may begin in the middle of this year
the new Honda SUV may make its premiere in April or May. (around June, or July). It will come with a gasoline engine and a hybrid powertrain. The Strong Hybrid SUV is expected to cost between Rs 18 and Rs 22 lakh, with the pricing of the petrol variant of the SUV starting at Rs 10.5 lakh. The Honda Elevate is the name of the SUV. Actually, this name had been registered by the business in 2021.
The new Honda SUV also offers camera-based ADAS
which is currently unavailable in any Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, or Kia Selto models. “Honda Sensing” is the name of the company’s ADAS technology. It has features including automatic braking, lane-keeping assistance, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and high-beam support. Six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, VSM, hill launch aid, 360-degree surround view, and an automatic parking brake are further features that the SUV is anticipated to have.
It has the choice of 1.5-liter petrol engines with i-VTEC technology
and 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engines (hybrid). In contrast, the non-hybrid version of the vehicle has a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission as options. The SUV will also have a single, fixed-gear ratio with three drive modes—engine, electric vehicle, and hybrid—just like the City Hybrid.
