What is happening regarding the claim of the train ticket?
It is being claimed through some media reports that the IRCTC website has updated the ticket booking rules, under which children below five years of age will now have to spend full money to buy train tickets. For this, Indian Railways and IRCTC have added the option of infant seats at the time of online booking. However, the report also clarified that as per circular no 12 issued by Indian Railways on 06.03.2020, children below 5 years of age do not require a reservation for travel and can travel on the train without a ticket.
