Kia has shown the production-ready version of its new electric SUV, the EV3. The model will be on sale in June 2024 in South Korea, then in Europe late that year, and in Asian countries early the following year. There has been no formal announcement regarding its launch in India as of yet. Around 200,000 EV3 units are intended for global sales, with a projected price range of US$35,000–50,000 (around Rs 30 lakh – Rs 42 lakh).

What is the state of the drivetrain?

The Kia EV3 will be offered with two battery packs from LG Chem, a regular 58.3kWh and a long-range 81.4kWh pack, both based on the E-GMP platform. A front axle-mounted electric motor with 201 horsepower and 283 Nm of torque powers both versions. The EV3 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.5 seconds, with a top speed of 170 kmph. On the WLTP cycle, the long-range variant is said to have a range of up to 600 kilometers. Its battery takes thirty-one minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent with its 400V construction. It will also include paddle shifters for regenerative braking and V2L (vehicle-to-load) capabilities.

Features and Interiors

Regarding the interior, this SUV’s design and features—including the 30-inch widescreen arrangement and its software—are comparable to those of the EV9. The dual 12.3-inch floating infotainment panels on the EV3 are positioned beneath haptic buttons and AV vents. It has a two-spoke steering wheel with navigation and media buttons installed. There are several storage spaces in the center console, and the front center armrest features a retracted table. The Kia EV3’s interior upholstery is made of sturdy material. This is the first electric vehicle from Kia with a personal AI assistant in addition to a 12-inch HUD, an ADAS suite, a digital display and ambient lighting that can be customized, a Harman Kardon sound system, and many other amenities. There is an additional storage capacity of 25 liters in the frunk of this electric compact SUV in addition to a 460-liter boot.

What is the state of the design?

The notion is reflected in the futuristic look of the new Kia EV3. It has Kia’s recognizable “Tiger Nose” up front, which has athletic cladding with a swooping look on the bumper and hood. As well as horizontal and vertical LED lighting elements. flush door handles, a big glasshouse. And flared wheel arches with black plastic siding further enhance its side profile. This electric compact SUV also gets a sloping roof, vertical taillamps, distinctive rear spoiler. Also Dual-tone bumper, and trapezoidal creases on the front and rear fenders.
