The Modi administration at the center has not yet made the 7th Pay Commission Dearness Allowance (DA) rise announcement for January 2023. Yet, according to sources, it has been decided to raise it by 4%. Employees in the central government currently receive a 38 percent dearness allowance, but that percentage is anticipated to rise to 42 percent soon. This will help 48 lakh pensioners and 65 lakh central employees. The dearness allowance of central staff will thereafter be raised once again on July 1st, 2023.DA

DA Will rise in accordance with the AICPI index

The Ministry of Labor’s AICPI index data is the foundation for this increase. The number has grown once more for January after declining in December. After looking at this number, it appears that dearness allowance will climb by 4% in July of this year. In fact, there will be an increase in DA in July based on AICPI index data from January to June. The government frequently announces the July DA increase in September.DA

AICPI reached 132.8 points, up from 132.3 points in December 2022.

The figure for January 2023, which was revealed yesterday, is 132.8 points. AICPI is capable of exceeding this in the near future. In such a case, it is anticipated that the rise in DA effective July 1 will be 4%. The DA for July will be revealed using AICPI index data that arrived after January.DA

DA rises twice per year.

Let us inform you that the government increases the DA (DA Hike) for central employees twice a year under the Seventh Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission). Now, the DA for January 2023 will shortly be revealed. Following then, the DA for July 2023 will be revealed.DA

Who makes the data public?

Let us inform you that the amount of the increase in the dearness allowance is determined based on the AICPI index. The Labor Ministry releases the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) data on the last working day of each month. This index was created for 88 centers as well as the entire nation.
