However, according to Dr. Piyush Ranjan of the Department of Medicine, AIIMS, there is no danger to humans.

Humans have an innate immunity to this disease. That is, it is one of those diseases that humans cannot have. However, the problem for us humans is that there may be a shortage of milk in India. In Gujarat, there has been a shortage of milk in the Amul plant due to the death of cattle.

The disease was first detected in Africa in 1929. In the last few years, this disease has spread to animals in many countries. It spread to Turkey and Greece in 2015 and to Russia in 2016. In July 2019, the havoc of this virus was seen in Bangladesh. Now it is spreading in many Asian countries. In India, this disease was seen in West Bengal in 2019. According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, the lumpi virus has spread to seven Asian countries since the year 2019. Apart from India, this disease was first reported in the year 2019. China, Nepal in June 2020, Taiwan and Bhutan in July 2020, Vietnam in October 2020 and Hong Kong in November 2020. The lump has been declared a notified disease by the World Animal Health Organization. There is no vaccine for this virus yet, so medicine is given on the basis of symptoms.

To avoid death, animals are given drugs like antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, and anti-histaminic. The virus has spread to lakhs of cattle in various districts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Assam, Karnataka, Kerala, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Jammu. Kashmir. has been hit. The worst situation is in Gujarat and Rajasthan. So far more than 1600 cattle have died in Gujarat due to the lumpi virus. At the same time, the death of about 4300 cows has been recorded in Rajasthan.
