Soon, the government will have some excellent news to share with the central staff. This news is connected to the DA Hike for the staff. According to a media report, an announcement of the dearness allowance is anticipated for the month of September. But this hasn’t received an official announcement as of yet. This time-distance allowance is anticipated to rise by 3%. Following this, the current DA will rise to 45 percent from 42 percent.
The AICPI index will be used to determine the amount.
According to a recent PTI report, the central government is mulling raising DA and DR for its more than one crore employees and pensioners to 45 percent. In reality, the Ministry of Labour uses the AICPI index to determine the rate of DA/DR (DA/DR) for central employees and pensioners.
An increase of 3% in DA is anticipated.
The June CPI-IW data, which the Labour Ministry announced on July 31, are slightly higher than 3%. The government does not take the decimal point into account. This time, a 4-percent rise in the Dearness allownace is being demanded, according to Shiv Gopal Mishra, general secretary of the All India Railwaymen’s Federation. However, it’s anticipated that the government will raise it by 3–45%.
Will be put into effect on July 1
If the government raises the DA and DR in September, it will take effect on July 1st. The Ministry of Finance’s Department of Expenditure will first craft a proposal for a DA increase with revenue consequences. After that, the Union Cabinet will be asked to approve this idea. After receiving cabinet approval, it will go into effect on July 1st, 2023. The Central Government currently has more than one crore employees and pensioners. He currently receives DA/DR at a rate of 42% of his base salary or pension.
Prior to that, Dearness allowance was raised on March 24, 2023. The new rule went into effect on January 1, 2023. The DA had then been raised to 42% from 42% by 4%.
