By the year 2025, Kia, a South Korean automaker, will introduce three new models, two of which are electric cars (EVs). On the occasion of the Seltos facelift’s introduction on Tuesday, Tae Jin Park, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kia India stated that the business anticipates the EV portion of its overall sales to reach 20% by 2030.
We have a long-term perspective on the Indian market, said Park
The third-largest market in the world, India, has enormous potential, as we are all aware. In line with this, the corporation has set a goal of growing its market share in passenger vehicles from 7% to 10%.
Furthermore, Park admitted that the company’s present models are insufficient
for its market share objective, which is why he proposed introducing new ones. “In this order, three new models can be introduced by 2025, of which two will be EV models,” he declared. According to him, up to 20% of all sales in 2030 are likely to be electric vehicles.
By the year 2028, Kia India intends to boost both
manufacturing and the number of its sales centers, from 300 to more than 600. The updated Seltos, a well-liked vehicle from Kia, is intended to enhance the company’s sales. In the Indian market, Seltos was crucial in helping Kia gain the first traction. Even today, it still accounts for 55% of the company’s overall sales.
