Important update on Rs. 500 note: Is the note you have fake?

The RBI had previously declared that it would stop issuing Rs 2000 notes a few months ago. Additionally, it was suggested that people deposit and exchange their Rs. 2000 notes in the bank by September 30, 2023. In such a scenario, the banks have received more than 90% of the Rs 2000 notes that have been returned thus far. With this, the Rs. 500 note will overtake the Rs. 1,000 note as the largest note in the nation.500 note

The biggest note is Rs 5000, hence counterfeit notes can also be found. People will need to conduct transactions in this situation carefully and be wary of false currency. Which will be the original note of Rs. 500 note as discussed below

1) The note will be printed with the denomination of Rs. 500.

2) The note would be covertly printed with the sum of Rs 500.

3) The number 500 will appear in the Devanagari script.

4) In the centre will be a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi.

5) ‘India’ and Bharat (in Devanagari) will be written in tiny print.

6) A security thread (strip) with the letters “Bharat” (in Devanagari) and “RBI,” whose colour also changes, will be present. You can observe that the security thread’s colour will shift from green to blue if you slightly bend the note.

7) The RBI emblem shall be located on the right side of the guarantee and promise clauses, the Governor’s signature, and the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi.

8) The electrotype and photograph of Mahatma Gandhi will bear the watermark (500).

9) On the top left and bottom right will be a number panel with ascending numbers.

10) A denomination digit and the rupee sign (Rs. 500) will be printed at the bottom right in ink that changes from green to blue.

11) On the right side, there will be an Ashoka Pillar symbol.

12) The Ashoka Pillar emblem (11), the circular identification mark with Rs. 500 micro text on the right side, and five angular bleed lines on both the left and right sides are some characteristics of visually impaired persons.

13) The year the note was printed will be written on the left.

14) It will have a Red Fort form.

15) 500 will be the symbolic number in Devanagari.
